Our Vision for Art and Design
"The intent of our Art curriculum is to provide children with a foundation of key artistic skills, understanding of a range of mediums and artists. At King Charles, we believe that all children should experience success. We know that Art is vital for all children’s well being and self expression. We feel that Art is an important tool for a life-long love of learning,
Our curriculum aims to provide the children with a progressive programme of study for art, craft and design which allows children to meet our school values, experience awe and wonder, develop creativity and experience the success of creating something unique."
SEND
Teachers set high expectations for pupils and plan lessons to be inclusive of all. The structure of our CUSP lessons allow children to thrive through the clear lesson structure and routines which enables children to break down their learning into smaller steps. Lessons are delivered through quality teaching and adaptations are provided to support children where necessary. Scaffolded resources may be used to support children’s learning. Teachers and teaching assistants support children and may scribe their ideas.
