Comic Relief Red Nose Day March 2025
We had a great day dressing up in 1980s clothes to celebrate 40 years of Red Nose Day.
At lunchtime we had 80's music playing in the dinner hall whilst we ate our lunch.
In total we raised over £110 for Comic Relief! Well done everyone!

World Book Day March 2025
We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 6th March, as ever our pupils (and staff!) didn't disappoint with their imaginative costumes! Some pupils were chosen to go to Waterstones to 'spend' their World Book Day vouchers. Have a look at some of our photos below!
KS2 Safer Internet Assembly- February 2025
KS1 and EYFS Safer Internet Assembly- February 2025
This week we have a focus on Internet Safety. The theme for Safer Internet Day this year was 'Too Good to be True: Protecting yourself and others from online scams'.
The Digital Leaders have planned a number of assemblies and activities around school, including an informative assembly to KS2 and visits to KS1 lessons to deliver sessions on how to avoid online scams.
In the EYFS and KS1 assembly, the children listened to a story about Smartie. Smartie was given a new tablet for his birthday.
Smartie encountered a number of issues whilst using his new tablet. He found a scary image, he realised some information online was not true and he was playing a game and a stranger tried to talk to him. Our pupils were able to talk about what they would do in that situation.
George said "I would tell a trusted adult."
Digital Leaders also launched a competition to design a poster to promote online safety and give advice about how to avoid online scams.
Bob Marley's 80th Birthday - A Young Voices Celebration
Our Key Stage 2 pupils had the incredible opportunity to celebrate Bob Marley's 80th birthday in a truly memorable way.
With the support of Mrs Wilkes, our wonderful pupils sang alongside a virtual live choir from Young Voices. The energy in the room was electric as they belted out some of Bob Marley's most iconic tunes. It was a joy to see their enthusiasm and the smiles on their faces as they embraced the music of this legendary artist.
This celebration wasn't just about singing; it was a chance for our pupils to connect with music that has touched generations. They learned about Bob Marley's impact on music and culture, all while having an absolute blast.
We are so proud of how our Key Stage 2 pupils threw themselves into this experience. Their participation and excitement were truly heartwarming. It's moments like these that remind us of the power of music to bring people together and inspire young minds.
Stepping Stones Go Shopping! - January 2025
The children in our Stepping Stones Blended Learning Group planned a trip to our local shops.
We are really proud of our children for walking sensibly to the shops, crossing roads and listening to instructions.
At the shops the children had to browse the items to find what they wanted to buy and pay for the things they had chosen.
The children were able to engage with the shopkeepers and we are really proud of their confidence in doing this.
Young Voices January 2025
Our wonderful choir had an amazing night being part of Young Voices 2025, performing in front of over 5000 people, alongside other school choirs from around the West Midlands at BP Pulse Live Arena.
Performing a medley of songs with the a 'dance' theme, songs from the hit musical Hairspray and commemorating what would have been Bob Marley's 80th birthday, there was something for everyone!
As well as performing as part of the Young Voices choir, our pupils enjoyed watching performances from Urban Strides, MC Grammar and Tommy Blaize. What an amazing experience it was!!
A Little Bird Told Me December 2024
Our Nursery and Reception children performed 'A little bird told me" to pupils, parents and carers.
The story followed a little bird who told everyone about the story of Jesus' birth.
We were really proud with the confidence that the children showed when they were on stage. The children's singing and dancing throughout the performance was wonderful!

Family Christmas Dinner December 2024
We would like to say a huge thank you to the staff from Shires Catering Services and our school staff who helped serving for making Family Christmas Dinner 2024 so successful.

Ready, Steady Elf! December 2024
Our Y2 pupils worked really hard to put on their Christmas production of Ready, Steady Elf.
In the story, Father Christmas woke up in a panic because he had overslept...on the most important day of the year! All of the elves got to work preparing toys, sorting the sleigh and cleaning and tidy ready for the big day........but.................it was only the 24th November!! Everyone cheered because all of the work was done, so they got to have a well deserved holiday!
Well done to the our confident narrators, wonderful dancers and brilliant actors who got lots of applause from their audiences!
Rotary Christmas Card Competition December 2024
Walsall Rotary Club kindly provided us with some blank cards and invited our pupils to create Christmas cards which could be sold in aid of funds for our school.
We held a competition for the most imaginative designs and here are Marina and Ivanna sharing their winning cards.
Well done to the girls for their fabulous designs. It was a tough choice as we had so many creative entries!
Digital Ambassador Assembly November 2024
Our Digital Ambassadors worked alongside Mrs Walker, our E Safety Lead, to put togethr an assembly about the importance of using technology safely. The children presented their new rules for using school technology with confidence. They thought carefully about how our KC Way values link to digital safety.
Year 6 worked with Architecture Workshops to construct a 12m long, 3m high skeletal structure based on the steam ship Empire Windrush. Pupils work individually, in teams and altogether on the project which has supported their current unit of work on Operation Windrush.

To support work that Sonic Group have been doing in Literacy, the pupils went to the cinema to watch Trolls Together Again. It was also an opportunity to develop their social skills. Everyone had a great time!
We had a wonderful day celebrating King Charles' 70th Birthday! We held a 1950s day because our school was built in 1954. We enjoyed dressing up in 1950s clothes, listening and dancing to 1950's music and reading stories and completed activities about books that were written in the 1950s. Reception and Nursery read 'The Cat in the Hat' By Dr Seuss. Y1 and Y2 read Paddington by Michael Bond. Y3 and Y4 read Charlotte's Web by E.B. White and Y5 and Y6 read The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S.Lewis.
We also looked at photos of our school in the 1950s and today. Click the link to see the video we watched!
We were overwhelmed with your donations to our local foodbank for Harvest. Reverend Gladwish joined us for our Harvest Festival. Emily, one of our values ambassadors made a speech about the importance of gratitude and nurture.
