Reporting on Progress

There are three specific times throughout the school year that we formally report on your child’s progress and achievement.

October

Our first Parent Consultation Session takes place at the end of October (just prior to half term)

10 minute sessions are offered via our online booking system to meet with your child's class teacher.

The focus of the meetings are to:

Meetings take place in the classroom, so that parents can visit their child's learning environment.

This will be an opportunity for the teacher to share expectations for homework and attendance and discuss any other concerns you may have.

Members of the Senior Leadership Team, SEND and Pastoral Team will also be available to answers any questions you may have,.

March

Our second Parent Consultation Session takes place prior to the Easter holidays. At this meeting, there will be more of a focus on the child's current attainment and progress across all areas of the curriculum.
Books will be available for you to review at this meeting.

Teachers will talk about your child's progress over the year to date and whether they are on track to meet their targets for the end of the year.

Again, meetings will take place in the classroom.

Members of the Senior Leadership Team, SEND and Pastoral Team will also be available to answers any questions you may have.

July

Parents receive their child's End of Year School Report, which will identify attainment, progress and attitude to learning in all areas of the curriculum. Teachers will also write an individualised report on the achievements and interests of your child, celebrating their contribution to wider school life.

We do not hold a Parent Consultation Session in July, however parents are invited to make an appointment to meet their child's class teacher if there is something they wish to discuss.

We do hold 'Meet the Teacher' events in July, These are an opportunity for parents to meet their child's new class teacher and find out information about expectations for that year group and phase.

At King Charles we track pupils' attainment and progress rigorously to ensure that, across the curriculum, children meet the expected end goals.

We hope that by attending our sessions over the school year parents see that staff at King Charles value the holistic development of all pupils in our school.
