Parent Communication

At King Charles we believe that communication between school and home is vitally important in supporting our pupils to be happy and successful in their education. 

Members of the Senior Leadership and Pastoral Team are available at the start and end of the school day. They are on the school gate or can be accessed via the school office. 

My Child at School - We use My Child at School (MCAS) for communication and payment services for parents. Click here for a guide to setting up the MCAS app on your phone.

Parents of pupils in EYFS, will be encouraged to download the ClassDojo app to receive updates on their child’s learning. 

Each week we send out a school newsletter. This week’s edition, plus previous copies can be found on our website. 

We hold two Parents Evening sessions per year in the Autumn and Spring Term. Appointments for these can be booked online and the link will be sent out prior to these events taking place.

In Summer Term, we hold ‘Meet the Teacher’ events, whereby parents can meet their child’s new class teacher for September. 

At the start of every term, we send out knowledge organisers to provide information on the learning taking place that term. 

Teachers and TAs will also update the school website regularly.

ClassDojo App

Once your child has joined our EYFS (Nursery/Reception) setting they will be given a QR code, which will invite you to your child's class.

When you are a member of the class you will be able to:

Add comments to pictures, videos or files uploaded by the staff at King Charles

Upload pictures, videos or files to your child's account

Send direct messages to your child's class teacher

Receive messages that have been added to the Class Story,  these are messages sent to the class as a whole

Receive information about Homework

You may need a new QR code if uploading the app onto a different/new device, these can be generated by your child's class teacher.
